Jason Malone the son of Renee Fluker won the Edward Davis Scholarship Award. The award was presented on January 6, 2000 for $5,000.

    MacArthur senior Jamie Fluker took home three sectional championships while adding to her highly successful four-year career for the Generals. Fluker came up huge in the long jump, the 100 meter dash, and the 800 medley relay along with teammates Tanisha Read, Victoria Toussaint, and Henry. Fluker jumped beyond 17 feet to qualify for state in the long jump, and sprinted to a first place finish at 12.3 seconds in the 100 to stake her place as one of the Big 12's best.

    Guitar Evangelist Cora Fluker appeared, along with recordings of two of her songs, in the January edition of The Digital Journalist in a section titled Blues Highway.   She sings spontaneously-created songs that preach the word of God and is adept at a traditional vocal technique she calls "moaning" which mixes heartfelt testifying with a hummed and moaned melody.
